1. Purpose
Our services are provided for lawful purposes only. This policy protects our network, our customers, and the broader internet community from abuse, illegal activity, and harmful behavior.
2. Prohibited Activities
You must not use our services for any of the following:
2.1 Illegal Activities
- Any activity that violates Australian or international law
- Copyright infringement or distribution of pirated content
- Distribution of illegal content including child exploitation material
- Fraud, identity theft, or financial crimes
- Trading or distributing controlled substances
2.2 Network Abuse
- Hacking, unauthorized access to systems or networks
- Launching denial-of-service (DoS or DDoS) attacks
- Port scanning or network reconnaissance without authorization
- Intentionally introducing viruses, malware, or other malicious code
- Interfering with or disrupting networks, services, or other users
2.3 Spam and Unsolicited Communications
- Sending unsolicited bulk email (spam)
- Operating email lists without proper opt-in procedures
- Email bombing or flooding
- Forging email headers or engaging in spoofing
2.4 Harassment and Abuse
- Harassment, threatening, or abusive communications
- Stalking or cyberbullying
- Hate speech or incitement to violence
- Defamation or intentional spread of false information
2.5 Interference with Emergency Services
- Making false emergency calls
- Interfering with emergency communications
- Any activity that could delay or prevent emergency response
2.6 Security Violations
- Sharing account credentials or allowing unauthorized access
- Circumventing security measures or authentication
- Accessing services or data without authorization
3. Your Responsibilities
As a customer, you are responsible for:
- Securing Your Connection: Protecting your network with strong passwords and appropriate security measures
- Monitoring Usage: Ensuring that everyone using your connection complies with this policy
- Legal Compliance: Ensuring all uses of the service comply with applicable laws
- Reporting Abuse: Notifying us if you become aware of violations of this policy
4. Consequences of Violations
If you violate this Acceptable Use Policy, we may take the following actions:
- Warning: We may contact you to request immediate cessation of the prohibited activity
- Service Suspension: We may temporarily suspend your service without notice if the violation is severe or ongoing
- Service Termination: We may permanently terminate your service for serious or repeated violations
- No Refunds: Services terminated for AUP violations are not eligible for refunds
- Legal Action: We may report illegal activities to law enforcement and cooperate fully with investigations
- Cost Recovery: You may be held liable for costs incurred due to your violations, including legal fees and remediation costs
5. Law Enforcement Cooperation
We are required by law to cooperate with law enforcement agencies. We will:
- Comply with lawful requests for customer information
- Report suspected illegal activity, including child exploitation material, to appropriate authorities
- Preserve evidence when legally required to do so
Some legal obligations prevent us from notifying customers when we receive certain types of lawful requests.
